Czech Republic Ambassador to India, Eliska Zigova, today called on Deputy Commissioner, Aashika Jain in Mohali. She interacted with the DC on the former’s initiatives to making rural women self-reliant by setting up self-help groups at village level.
Impressing upon the exhibition of various products prepared by various women groups, she said the initiative was well received and may be beneficial for other women too who need to set up their home-based small businesses by forming a group.
The DC is making extra efforts for women empowerment by encouraging rural women to develop their entrepreneurial skills, which is a remarkable achievement. I wish her success and Czech Embassy will provide the entrepreneurs with a platform to market their products manufactured by these women,” the Ambassador said, while interacted with the women members of self-help groups.

Czech automakers produced nearly 1.1 million passenger cars in the first three quarters of 2024, an 8 percent increase year-on-year. However, electric vehicle (EV) production accounted for just a tenth of this output, with demand for EVs declining across Europe despite EU efforts to promote them over internal combustion engines. This contrasts rising overall production and shrinking interest in electric cars.

Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, Dhaka, The Chairman of ServicEngine Limited and the Deputy Managing Director of Abdul Monem Limited, A. S. M. Mohiuddin Monem has been honoured with the ‘President’s Award for Industrial Development’ in IT-related high-tech industry category for the year 2018. This is the fourth time Mr Mohiuddin Monem has received the prestigious award from the President.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Honorable Tomas Petricek has visited to India with his officials as well as business delegation on Monday, January 13, 2020 upon the invitation of the Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mrs. Martina Tauberová and representatives of media are also in the delegation. The accompanying business delegation is led by Vice President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic Mr Radek Spicar.
Our Honorary Consul Mr. A S M Mohiuddin Monem was also present in the business forum. During the visit of H.E. Tomas Petricek had the opportunity to thank the Honorary Consuls of the Czech Republic, who work in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. They spread the good name of the Czech Republic, promote bilateral cooperation with counties concerned and help Czech citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad.

A. S. M. Mohiuddin Monem, the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Dhaka, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Best Exporter of the Year’ accreditation!

The Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, her excellency Sheikh Hasina handed over the coveted Best Exporter award to Mr. Mohiuddin this morning, at the Honors Recognition Ceremony of the 3rd National Digital Bangladesh Day 2019. Mr. Mohiuddin, the Chairman of ServicEngine Bangladesh, received the honors following the BPO company’s outstanding contribution towards the country’s socio-economic development.
