Czech Ambassador H.E Milan Hovorka visited Dhaka from 25th to 28th June
Czech Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Milan Hovorka visited Dhaka together with his spouse, Mrs. Jarmila Hovorková from 25thJune 2016 to 28th June 2016. He was honored to present his Credential to the President of People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Mr. Abdul Hamid at President’s residence, Bangabhaban on 27th June, 2016.
Other than this main programme, H.E. with his wife Ms. Jarmila Hovorková visited the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Dhaka and met the Honorary Consul Mr. A.S.M. Mohiuddin Monem on June 25, 2016. During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his heartfelt and sincere gratitude to our Honorary Consul and the Consulate Team for promoting Czechia in Bangladesh and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. He was impressed by the state-of-the-art setup of the Honorary Consulate´s premises and the enthusiasm of the entire Dhaka team.
Ambassador to Bangladesh had the pleasure to visit ADRA Bangladesh on 26th June, 2016 and meet with its staff and clients of Chalantika community center. The Czech Embassy in New Delhi has been supporting Chalantika for the past three years and “It´s very rewarding to see the project supported by the Czech Republic to flourish and make real change to peoples ´lives,” commented on the visit the Ambassador.
During the visit the Czech Ambassador, had the opportunity to meet the Head of EU Delegation. Moreover, H.E. Mr. Milan Hovorka and his spouse attended the rickshaw distribution program of Shine Foundation held on 27th June at Spectra Convention Center of the capital which has been led by Mrs. Asma Monem, the spouse of our Honorary Consul. Shine Foundation distributed twenty rickshaws, vans and some wheel chairs among the disabled people in the presence of the ambassador.
On 28th June, 2016 H.E. and Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic called on State Minister of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources Mr. Nasrul Hamid, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Mr. Rashed Khan Menon, Chairman of Board of Investment Mr. Syed A. Samad, Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Mr. Kazi Habibul Awal and Chairman of the Bangladesh Power Development Board Mr. Shamsul Hasan Miah, with whom they discussed the possibilities of mutual cooperation between the two countries in trade, investment, energy, civil aviation, tourism, defense and security. While appreciating both the tone and content of all the meetings he had, Ambassador said, “It has been gratifying to note that Bangladesh looks to Czechia as an important development partner. There is no doubt that both countries would benefit a lot if they work together in a more result oriented manner.”
Later on Tuesday evening, H.E. departed Dhaka for India on 28th June, 2016.
